A number of factors go into installing a ceiling fan that you might not be aware of. The square footage of the room, the height of the room, do you have cathedral or very high ceilings or is the ceiling height even capable for a ceiling fan. You don't want anyone to get hit in the head with those blades. Also remember the shorter the down rod on your fan from the ceiling to fan equals less air flow. Airflow from a ceiling fan can make a huge difference in your heating and cooling bills too.

When it comes to generators for your home or small business you basically have two options. A Home Standby unit generator or a Portable generator. The difference between the two are very simple. A Home Standby unit is stationary and will start all by itself during a power outage and Portable unit needs to be rolled out(usually on wheels) and manually started by a home/business owner. A big difference in cost is also a factor in considering which generator style. A Standby unit will cost a couple thousand dollars(depending on size and installation) compared to a Portable which can be just as reliable and cost a fraction of a Standby(depending on what you want it to be controlling). A Standby unit can power anything from a couple of outlets, sump pumps and lights to your whole house. A Portable unit can be surprisingly just as effective if your house has gas heat and you are only worried about the basics being powered on during a power outage(micro, fridge, freezer, oil or gas heat, lights and outlets). A lot of people do not utilize the power a Portable generator can put out . Another thing to take into consideration is the maintenance on these two different types of generators. Although both have to be maintained like car motors(oil changes, filters and spark plugs) a Standby unit has to be maintained more often than a Portable unit(usually once or twice a year depending on how often you have power outages). A Portable unit only has to maintained how often it gets used.
A big seller of ours is the basic outside flood light motion sensor with the LED bulb package. If you have existing motion sensors with standard halogen flood bulbs that turn on and turn off a 100 times a night, you probably are wasting a lot of money on your electricity bill. With the low energy cost of installing LED bulbs in outside motion, security, dusk to dawn or even a wall mount fixtures you can save a lot on your electricity bill. A lot of people do not know about flood light nuisance detection. If you have a lot of nuisance detection with motion lights turning on and off all night long this might be caused by a defective sensor, oversized trees or improper installation of motion sensors over top of AC units.

By adding more amperage and updating your electrical panel the possibilities are endless of what you can do electrically in your home. You might even be able to get away with a subpanel installation. This is actually called a panel extension off your Main electrical panel that holds more breakers. However if your current electrical panel is out of date, out of breaker space, or pretty hard to cram more wires into it, it might be time to upgrade your electrical panel.
